Luxsonic

Luxsonic: Transforming Healthcare Through Immersive Technology

At Bounce Health Innovation, we celebrate visionary companies that are reshaping healthcare in bold, transformative ways. One such company is Luxsonic Technologies Inc., a Canadian leader in immersive medical imaging solutions. Building upon their innovative SieVRt platform, Luxsonic is now collaborating with the CAN Health Network and the Virtual Health Hub to enhance healthcare delivery in Saskatchewan’s remote and Indigenous communities.

In August 2025, Luxsonic joined forces with the CAN Health Network and the Virtual Health Hub to address healthcare challenges in underserved regions. The partnership introduces two groundbreaking initiatives: Luxsonic’s Virtual Imaging Platform, a full-stack radiology workflow software built in virtual reality that allows radiologists to remotely view and interpret diagnostic images, and Virtual Hallway’s digital consultation platform, which enables family physicians to consult with specialists more quickly. Together, these tools improve access to expertise and accelerate diagnoses in areas where imaging specialists are often limited.

Luxsonic’s SieVRt platform, authorized as a Class II medical device in Canada, integrates viewing, workflow management, communication, AI-enhanced tools, and teaching resources into a single system. By replacing traditional workstations and monitors with high-definition virtual imaging displays, SieVRt offers a portable and cost-effective solution for remote radiology, empowering healthcare providers with innovative tools to deliver better care.

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to improving access, equity, and health outcomes for northern and Indigenous populations. As Dr. Dante Morra, Chair and Founder of the CAN Health Network, notes, “We’re not just solving challenges—we’re building a more connected and inclusive health system that truly reflects the needs of Canadians.” With the Virtual Health Hub set to be fully operational by February 2027, Luxsonic’s involvement highlights their dedication to bridging healthcare gaps through cutting-edge technology.

At Bounce, we are proud to support Luxsonic Technologies as they continue to lead the way in integrating virtual reality into healthcare, making a tangible impact on communities in need.

Founded in 2016 by Dr. Mike Wesolowski, Luxsonic was built with a clear mission: to improve access to healthcare through cutting-edge tools like virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR). What began as an idea to modernize medical imaging education has evolved into a powerful suite of solutions with global reach and real-world impact.

Luxsonic’s flagship product, SieVRt, is an all-in-one virtual reality radiology suite. It enables radiologists to review and interpret medical imaging in an immersive 3D environment—completely untethered from traditional clinical workstations. By moving the reading room into virtual space, SieVRt makes it possible for healthcare professionals to collaborate remotely, train in realistic environments, and expand radiology services to underserved and remote regions. It’s a meaningful leap forward in both efficiency and accessibility.

This technology isn’t just hypothetical—it’s already making a difference. Luxsonic has partnered with some of the world’s most respected medical institutions, including Massachusetts General Hospital, where they’re working to integrate VR technologies directly into clinical care. In partnership with Queen’s University, they’ve also launched a remote radiology residency program that connects trainees in Canada with providers in Nairobi, Kenya, helping build capacity where it’s needed most.

Closer to home, Luxsonic’s work is helping to strengthen the healthcare system across Newfoundland and Labrador. In collaboration with NL Health Services, Luxsonic is working to bring its Virtual Imaging Platform into practice to improve access to radiology expertise across the province—bridging geography with immersive tech.

In 2022, Luxsonic’s momentum was recognized when they won the Startup TNT Investment Summit V Finale, unlocking new resources to grow their team and expand operations across Canada and the United States. It was a significant milestone that validated both their vision and their ability to scale impact through innovation.

At Bounce, we’re thrilled to support Luxsonic’s journey as they redefine how healthcare can be taught, accessed, and delivered. Their work is a shining example of how Atlantic Canadian innovation is shaping the future of medicine—not just in our region, but around the world.

PragmaClin

PragmaClin: Revolutionizing Parkinson’s Care from Newfoundland and Labrador

At Bounce Health Innovation, we are proud to support trailblazing companies that are reshaping healthcare through innovative solutions. One of our standout success stories is PragmaClin Research Inc.—a health tech company based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador—that’s turning heads with its groundbreaking approach to neurological care, starting with Parkinson’s Disease.

Founded in 2020 by Memorial University PhD student Bronwyn Bridges and Parkinson’s patient advocate Gord Genge, PragmaClin was built from both lived experience and academic insight. Together, they set out to address one of the most significant gaps in Parkinson’s care: timely, accurate, and accessible patient assessments. From that mission, PRIMS® (Parkinson’s Remote Interactive Monitoring System) was born.

PRIMS® is a digital clinical tool that uses 3D depth camera technology and clinical-grade assessments to remotely evaluate motor symptoms in people with Parkinson’s Disease. The system produces real-time reports for healthcare providers, allowing for more frequent and accurate monitoring—without requiring patients to travel long distances to see a specialist. For a province like Newfoundland and Labrador, where geography often limits access to care, this kind of innovation is a game changer.

The system aligns with the Movement Disorder Society’s Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale (MDS-UPDRS), ensuring it meets global clinical standards. It’s designed to improve treatment plans, reduce healthcare costs, and—most importantly—enhance quality of life for patients and their families. PragmaClin’s user-first approach centers the lived experience of those managing chronic neurological conditions, offering a tech-enabled solution that’s both compassionate and clinically rigorous.

The team’s work hasn’t gone unnoticed. In 2022, PragmaClin received the Trico Foundation’s NU Community Board Award, recognizing them as one of Canada’s top emerging social enterprises. The award celebrates student-led ventures that are delivering meaningful social impact through innovation and entrepreneurship—something PragmaClin exemplifies.

Looking ahead, the company is focused on validating its technology in clinical settings, securing regulatory approvals, and expanding its reach across Canada and beyond. Their goal is to bring accessible, efficient, and personalized care to everyone living with Parkinson’s Disease, no matter where they are.

At Bounce, we’ve had the privilege of supporting PragmaClin’s journey from early-stage research to a scalable, purpose-driven company. Their story is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when innovation is rooted in real-world challenges and driven by a commitment to making healthcare better for everyone.
