Bounce Health Innovation
Challenge
Aging + Brain Health Edition
Advancing Innovation in Aging and Brain Health
After four months of collaboration, mentorship, customer discovery, and solution development, the first Bounce Health Innovation Challenge has officially wrapped up.
The Challenge brought together entrepreneurs, students, and innovators from across Newfoundland and Labrador to tackle real healthcare challenges through digital innovation. In partnership with the Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation (CABHI), participants explored challenge statements focused on aging and brain health and worked to better understand the needs behind them before developing potential solutions.
Throughout the program, participants received mentorship, milestone-based funding, and opportunities to strengthen both their understanding of the problem and the solution they were developing.
The program culminated in a Final Showcase, where the five Phase Two teams pitched their solutions to a panel of judges. Three teams were selected to receive additional funding to help continue advancing their ventures and bringing their solutions closer to real-world impact.
Advancing Through Phase One
The first phase of the Challenge focused on exploration and validation. Teams spent the first two months digging into their chosen healthcare challenge through research, stakeholder engagement, and customer discovery. Along the way, they refined their understanding of the problem, tested early solution concepts, and presented their progress to an adjudication panel.
Following that process, five teams were selected to advance to Phase Two and each received $5,000 in non-dilutive funding to continue developing their solutions.

During Phase Two, the five teams continued strengthening and refining their digital health solutions, exploring implementation considerations, and preparing for the Final Showcase. Each team pitched its solution to a panel of judges, with the top three teams receiving additional funding to help continue advancing their venture.
